Welcome to the Harrison County CASA Program
Harrison County CASA Program is a local member program in good standing of the National CASA Association. Harrison County CASA Program is a private non-profit 501© 3 funded by grants, donations and special events only.
CASA – Court Appointed Special Advocates is the only volunteer organization that empowers everyday citizens as appointed members of the court to serve as an independent voice for the best interest of abused and neglected children living in protective custody in Harrison County, West Virginia. In an overburdened social welfare system, abused and neglected children often slip through the cracks among hundreds of current cases. CASA volunteers change that. Appointed by judges as a Friend of the Court or persons entitled to notice and the right to be heard, CASA volunteers typically handle just one case at a time—and commit to staying on that case until the child is placed in a safe, permanent home. While others may come and go, CASA volunteers provide that one constant that children need in order to thrive.
